Zoey is a 6 month old Shepherd / Husky mix who is full of personality, spunky and very sweet. She is extremely smart and needs regular exercise or she can get bored and mischievous easily. She requires a house with a fenced in yard and room to run in order to burn off energy and be on her best behavior. She needs an experienced "pack lead" as an owner, preferably someone who has had some husky/shepherd experience, as she is very smart and often shows off her smarts with typical husky willful behavior.

She responds best to a lot of love, patience, and firm pack leadership. She knows many commands: sit, lay down, stay, high five, leave it, drop it, wait (for treats) and take it (for treats). She enjoys the challenge of learning and picks up commands quickly. Zoey will be medium sized around 40-45 lbs looks much like a miniature shepherd and is likely a border collie/ shepherd/ husky mix. She looks very much like a shepherd, but displays much more husky personality traits and has the energy of a collie. She prefers to "talk"when she is ready to get out of her crate to potty.  She is very interested in meeting strangers on walks and meets everyone with friendly behavior, but will happily sit like a statue and watch activity when we pause on walks. Sh e would do best in a home as an only dog so she can get all of the love and attention but she LOVES other dogs!  She loves to play with other dogs her size, but her energy and wrestling approach often can be a little too much for smaller breeds.  She has a high prey drive and would not do well with cats in a home. She loves the snow and is happiest being around her humans, but still able to take time to run outdoors everyday.

Zoey is still a puppy and would do best in a home with older children, who can assert themselves "in the pack" and give her direction and commands. She likes kids of all ages, but she is energetic, and can be rambunctious, so it's best for her to be in a home where all family members can give her consistent guidance in what behavior is ok and what is not.
