Meet Unstoppable Ralph, a little wire-haired cairn terrier mix. Ralph has some hip dysplasia and also had some pelvic fractures (now healing) when he came into the rescue. Hip dysplasia can be managed by maintaining proper body weight, controlling activity, and pain medication if/when needed. At other times or if arthritis sets in, surgery can be performed to stabilize the hip joints. We felt it would be cruel at this point to subject Ralph to surgery when he is managing so well and just got back to enjoying life. He runs, jumps, and can even climb stairs. Ralph is housetrained, crate trained, good with other dogs (best with dogs near to his size). He loves attention and is very affectionate but also just fine being left alone for periods of time. He is not destructive at all. He is very low shedding and enjoys a little light grooming every other day or so to keep away tangles.
