Stunning OSSIE is a 6 month old Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) type mixed breed puppy. Ossie is a live wire, full of puppy hijinks. Ossie is fun and wicked smart. He needs an active home where he will get plenty of exercise -- running, hiking, playing fetch in the yard, etc. Ossie needs an adopter who will put time into training him to become a well-mannered adult. Herding breed dogs are active and intelligent and are probably not a good choice for a first time dog parent. Ossie is currently 25 pounds and will probably be 30-35 pounds when fully grown. He is dog friendly and would love a home with another active, playful dog and a physically-fenced yard. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
