ROSELLA is a simply stunning fluffy mixed breed girl looking for a home. Our best guess on breed is an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie type mix based on her appearance, but she does not have the energy level of those breeds. Rosella is 4-5 years old and  currently overweight at 67 pounds. Rosella was adopted from us 15 months ago and at the time of her adoption she was a healthy 46 pounds, so we are working to get her back to a healthy weight. Rosella was returned through no fault of her own, her adopter has allergy issues.  She is  a sweet, gentle medium-energy girl whose tail never stops wagging. She is affectionate and eager to please and loves every person she meets. Rosella enjoys playing with her toys and going for walks. She ignores cats and would probably be okay with another low key dog -- think roommate rather than playmate. However she's perfectly content as an only dog.  Rosella is housebroken and crate trained. We don't know if she's ever lived around kids, but she would probably be fine around older dog-savvy kids. She's best suited to a home with a physically-fenced yard. Rosella needs an adopter who will love her enough to get her back to a healthy weight. She is clearly uncomfortable at her current weight, and carrying around those extra pounds makes her a prime candidate for arthritis. Rosella's beautiful coat will require regular brushing. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
