MURRAY is an adorable 2 year old 8 pound little mixed breed boy here to steal your heart. He appears to be a Peke-A-Tese, a Pekingnese/Maltese mix. Murray has had a very difficult month. He and 4 other dogs were packed into a couple of crates and dumped in a rural cemetary. We suspect a backyard breeder decided to get out of the breeding business. They were found in horrible shape. The shelter workers thought Murray was dead until they saw him move. They offered him food and water but were not optimistic about his chances for survival. We agreed to take him in and his foster mom nursed him back to health. When Murray was strong enough he was fully vetted and transported to us. After this ordeal, Murray is understandably timid and slow to trust, but once you earn his trust Murray will love you with his whole heart. Murray is best suited to a quiet home with no big dogs or small kids. He's interested in other dogs and given where he came from we are pretty confident he's fine with other small dogs. Murray needs a patient adopter who will take the time to earn his trust. Please note that Murray's beautiful coat will require regular grooming appointments evey 6-8 weeks to keep him looking and feeling fabulous. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
