WINDY is an adorable SMALL dog looking for a home. Don't be fooled by the photos, she may look large in photos but Windy is a petite girl. WIndy is around 1 year old and fully grown at just 20 pounds. Windy and her brother Bolt were found by park rangers after being dumped in a campground. Bolt and Windy survived a very scary situation -- they got too close to a mama bear and her cubs and the mama bear chased them. Thankfully they were quick enough to get away. We can make some guesses at Windy's breed mix -- we suspect some chihuahua, some pug, maybe a little beagle and dachshund and terrier and heaven only knows what else. She is playful and sweet and friendly, okay with other small dogs and fine with cats. Windy is a medium energy young dog who does love to play and needs a home where she'll get to burn up some of that energy. You can meet Windy at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
