RUFUS is a sweet, stunning furball looking for a home. He appears to be some type of doodle, maybe a labradoodle? He may well have other breeds mixed in, who knows with all of the "designer" mixed breed dogs breeders are turning out! Rufus is about 2 years old and fully grown at 48 pounds. He is dog friendly, loves people and has lovely manners. No kitties for Rufus. His long lovely locks will require regular grooming/upkeep to keep him from becoming a matted mess. Rufus loves playing with his foster brother and needs a home with another medium-energy playful dog and a physically-fenced yard with room to run and play. If you'd like to meet Rufus, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Rufus at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, IF he's still available. But if you're interested, you might not want to wait until Saturday.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
