ZAXBY is an absolutely darling little 7 pound Yorkshire Terrier boy looking for a home. This adorable little boy is around 7 years old. He has a sassy, confident Yorkie trot. Zaxby is housebroken, crate trained and fine with cats and other dogs. He was found as a stray in pretty rough shape -- covered in fleas and suffering from flea anemia and with a mouthful of rotten teeth.  He's now fully vetted, all of the fleas and rotten teeth are gone and he is ready for life as a treasured companion. Zaxby has suffered some hair loss thanks to the fleas but with good nutrition and regular veterinary care, we expect his coat to fill out again. Yorkies do require regular grooming. If you'd like to meet little Zaxby, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Zaxby at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
