How can you resist this little face? Meet DAIZY MAY, a sweet 2 year old 10 pound chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund) girl looking for a home. She was an owner surrender in a rural shelter where she was absolutely terrified. She's nervous in new situations and with new people but warms up quickly to kindness. Daizy May's happy place is cuddled up with her person on the sofa.  She's fine with other small dogs but frightened by large dogs. She is perfectly fine with kitties. Daizy May is what we call a "diaper dog", she sticks to people like glue and does tend to get underfoot so she may not be a good choice for an elderly adopter or for a home with young kids. Daizy May is a quiet girl so she should be fine in an apartment or condo. If you'd like to meet Daizy May, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet her at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. 

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
