Stunning IRIS is a 4 month old 25 pound mixed breed puppy looking for a home. She is the perfect balance of playful puppy and cuddle buddy. Iris is was found dumped in a rural area about a month ago, alone and terrified. What kind of monster does that to an innocent little puppy? Thankfully we were able to make room for this lovely girl. Iris is a Heinz 57 Varieties-type mixed breed girl. We see black lab, probably some mountain cur or black mouth cur to give her that sqaured nose and heaven knows what else. Our best guess is she will be around 50 pounds when fully grown. Her low maintenance short black coat gleams in the sun. Iris loves toys, playing fetch and romping with other friendly dogs. She's best suited to a home with another friendly playful dog who will show her the ropes. Like all puppies, Iris will require some training to help her become a well mannered family member. If you'd like to meet Iris, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet her at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.
