Dashing DALTON is a fun loving, silly pup looking for a home. He appears to be a beagle/redbone coonhound mix, currently 7 months old and 26 pounds. He will probably top out at around 40 lbs. when fully grown, just a little bit bigger than an adult beagle. Dalton is an energetic boy who lives to have fun and loves to run and play. He's still figuring out fetch -- he loves to chase the ball but bringing the ball back is a work in progress. This good-natured, friendly boy loves everyone and is great with other dogs. He's best suited to an active home with a physically fenced yard and another playful dog. He would also be a wonderful running/walking/hiking partner. He's a typical puppy -- he needs some training work but he's very food motivated which is always helpful. If you'd like to meet Dalton, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to set up a private meet with an approved adopter. You can also meet Dalton at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-3 at PetSmart Eastgate if he's still available.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.
