Sweet KARA is a darling little mixed breed dog looking for a home. Photos don't do this cutie pie justice, she's so white she glows. Kara is a terrier mix. She looks a lot like a Jack Highland, a Jack Russell Terrier/Westie mix. Her wiry white coat reminds us of a West Highland Terrier. JRT fits her personality -- she's a strong, athletic girl who can jump at least 5 feet straight in the air to get your attention and she does like to share her opinions. Kara is still a puppy -- about 8 months old and fully grown at 28 lbs. Kara loves people and thrives on attention. She's very food motivated, but lives for affection. Other dogs can make Kara a bit anxious so we think she's best suited to a home where she will be an only dog who soaks up all of the love. Kara came to us from a home where she suffered neglect, her coat is still recovering from the effects of poor nutrition and being infested with fleas. We also know that she was mistreated by the sorry excuse of a man who dumped her in a shelter. All this girl needs is love and kindness, good nutrition and veterinary care, and regular upkeep of her scruffy white coat. If you'd like to meet Kara, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.
