NENA is a sweet young Mexican Hairless (Xoloitzcuintle) dog looking for a new home. She is a lively, athletic girl who needs daily exercise to keep her healthy, happy and out of trouble. Nena is very affectionate and bonds closely to her people. She can be a bit timid in new surroundings, but she comes around quickly. She loves to play tug. Nena is about 11 months old and fully grown. She's currently 31 lbs. but should weigh 24-25 lbs. so she is on a diet. Nena is a playful girl who would be fine with a bigger dog, but she's a bit too much for small dogs. She would love a home with a physically-fenced yard where she can run and play. Nena is perfect for someone who needs a hypoallergenic dog. Her skincare regimen is not terribly complicated -- moisturizer, a healthy diet and baths. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
