Sweet gentle Daryl is a medium-sized dog trapped in a big dog's body. He's easy going, even-tempered and loves to be with people. Right now there's a bit too much of Daryl to love. He currently weighs 64 lbs, but should weigh around 48 lbs. so he's been dieting. He is 5.5 years old, housebroken, crate trained and dog and cat friendly. Daryl's mama is a beagle and, like the song says, papa was a rolling stone. A DNA test on his sister showed a crazy mix of breeds -- beagle, boxer, lab, white Swiss shepherd, and more. Daryl has a soft, medium length coat. He requires a home with a physically-fenced yard and a friendly dog companion. Daryl needs an adopter committed to getting this guy to a healthy weight to insure a long happy life for this very good boy. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
