Beautiful ZIGGY is one of the most delightful dogs we've ever met. This very good boy was adopted from SDHR as a puppy about 9 years ago and was returned to us Saturday through no fault of his own. His breed mix is a mystery, he has long legs and a floofy creamy tan medium-length coat. Ziggy may be 9 years old but he's definitely not an old man. He has plenty of energy and lots of pep in his step. He's super social, wanting to meet everyone he sees. Ziggy loves loves loves kids. He gets so excited his whole body wiggles whenever he sees a kid. He's dog friendly, housebroken and just an amazing dog. He's not so great with kitties -- he wants to chase them. Ziggy is currently 41 lbs. but needs to add about 5 lbs. He would be so happy in a home where he gets to socialize with kids, whether it's kids in the home or visiting grandkids. He would love going to soccer fields and ball games with lots of kids around. Ziggy was anxious and confused trying to find his family and go home after being dropped off, and we want to get this boy into a loving home ASAP. If you'd like to meet Ziggy, please fill out a foster-to-adopt application at
dreamhouserescue.org.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
