Are you ready to go racing? Say hello to the HORSE COUNTRY litter, KEENELAND, CHURCHILL and TURFWAY! These boys are 5 month old border collie/lab mixed breed pups looking for furever homes. All 3 are very people-oriented and love to run and play. They are currently 30ish lbs. and will probably top out in the 40-45 lb range when fully grown. All 3 have identical faces but Turfway is all black with a short coat while Keeneland and Churchill are black and white with medium length coats. The HORSE COUNTRY boys had a bit of a rough start in life, if you look closely at the photos you'll see that their coats look a little rough. That's a result of neglect -- poor nutrition, fleas, etc. Those issues have been addressed and in just one week they're all looking and feeling so much better. Keeneland, Churchill and Turfway landed in a shelter with 7 other dogs after a fire destroyed their home. Sadly, there were additional dogs in the home who did not survive the fire. If you've been following our page for a while, you may remember Journey, a pregnant border collie mama who came to the rescue in April of 2020 and gave birth to 10 puppies. We also had her sister Zara. Keeneland, Churchill and Turfway came from the same household as Journey and Zara. If you search our page and look at pics of Zara, Journey and pups, you'll see the resemblance. These boys are likely cousins to those border collies. The Horse Country pups are best suited to a home with a physically fenced yard. All 3 are dog and people friendly, not cat tested. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
