Sweet beagle girl KEENA is ready for the good life in a furever home. This precious girl came to us a few months ago emaciated and sick from long-term neglect. Thanks to good veterinary care, a healthy diet and lots of love in her wonderful foster home, she's healthy, happy and ready to be loved on. Keena's age is difficult to assess because her teeth were so rotten, but we believe she's 6-8 years old. She's at a healthy weight, around 24 lbs.  Keena is very people-oriented and loves a good cuddle session. She's not super playful but does enjoy the companionship of another dog who likes to snuggle at nap time. She's also fine with cats. Keena requires a home with a physically-fenced yard where she can sniff around. Keena is a little low on teeth -- she had more than 20 rotten teeth removed during her extensive dental cleaning -- but in true beagle fashion, she makes do with what's left to devour her meals. She is housebroken and crate trained. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
