Adorable RASCAL is an absolute gem of a small dog. He's a 4 year old 23 lb. dachshund/boston terrier-type mix who charms everyone he meets. He's a total flirt. Rascal is a "never met a stranger" type dog, upon first meeting Rascal starts dancing for attention, and he hops right into any available lap. He'd be so happy to join all of your Zoom meetings. Photos do not do this little guy justice because he's too busy trying to get attention and affection to hold still for photos. We just got Rascal, but he appears to be housebroken, ignores cats and seems okay with other small dogs. But mostly he's interested in people. He's best suited to life as a constant companion. Rascal would be fine as an only dog if he's not left alone for long hours, but will probably need the companionship of another small dog if he's left alone for a full workday. He would be fine in an apartment or condo. If you'd like to meet Rascal, please fill out a foster-to-adopt application at dreamhouserescue.org.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
