Out of work Aussie needs a job! Will work for food! BANDIT is a gorgeous blue merle Australian Shepherd looking for work. And a home, of course, but this guy really needs a job to keep him occupied physically and mentally. The job can involve chasing balls and frisbees or a training partner for running and hiking. Bandit has energy for days and needs a living situation where he can burn off that energy on a daily basis. Bandit would love a home with another active playful dog. He’s 3 years old and 45 lbs., housebroken and crate trained. He’s fine with other dogs and okay with cats but he might chase a cat that runs. Silly Bandit thinks he can herd cats! Bandit is very affectionate but he’s no couch potato, this boy needs to move. He needs an experienced adopter who understands and appreciates herding breed dogs. He’s best suited to a home with a large fenced yard or acreage in a rural situation. He’s not well-suited to a home with young children. They will not enjoy being herded. If you’d like to meet gorgeous, energetic Bandit please fill out a foster-to-adopt application at dreamhouserescue.org.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
