JAYBIRD is a big beautiful Swissy-type mix puppy looking for a furever home. He appears to be a Greater Swiss Mountain dog mix. Jaybird is 6 months old 45 lbs. He still has some growing to do and will possibly end up in the 60+ lb. range. He's a very social, playful guy who loves people and other dogs. Jaybird is energetic and athletic and is best suited to a home with another big playful doggo and a physically-fenced yard. Jaybird loves kids but given his size and playful nature he might tip small kids over. He's housebroken and crate trained. Jaybird needs an adopter who is committed to continue his training to make sure he grows up as a well-mannered family member. Puppy training is critical for large breed dogs. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
