Meet WALL-E! Maybe we should have named this guy Mr. Happy-Go-Lucky or Mr. Personality because he is one cheerful little guy. Wall-E is young, around 10-12 months old and full of playful puppy enthusiasm. He's a mixed breed boy, part dachshund, part beagle and who knows what else. He's currently 26 lbs but slightly overweight, he should be under 25 lbs. Wall-E is an energetic young dog and needs a home with another playful dog or with an active adopter, someone who will take him jogging or hiking or on lots of walks. He needs a physically fenced yard where he can run and play. He is dog friendly, not cat tested yet. Wall-E loves people and loves attention. He needs some work on his manners, not unusual for young shelter dogs, but he's such a happy, eager-to-please type boy, he will learn quickly. Please note, Wall-E is not a lap dog. Smaller dachshund mix dogs tend to get lots of interest from older adopters looking for a low-key dog. That's not the right environment for Wall-E. Also, Wall-E is not well suited to apartment living. If you'd like to meet this little gem of a dog, please fill out a foster-to-adopt application at dreamhouserescue.org.
All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care.
