Our super sweet petite mama dog Violet is looking for her furever home. She came to us as a starved, heavily pregnant abandoned stray who had been dumped along the side of a road in a rural area. She gave birth to 10 beautiful puppies. Violet is obviously an experienced mama and has done an excellent job of caring for her puppies. Now she's ready to be a pampered, beloved family member, probably for the first time in her life. No more puppies for Violet!

Violet is a small 32  lb girl, about 6 years old. We believe she's part feist or mountain cur, giving her a dark brindle coat and stubby tail, and part Italian greyhound, giving her that pointy nose and fine-boned frame. Violet is good with people of all ages, cats and other dogs. She needs some work on her manners but she's a bright dog and very food motivated. We think she's best suited to a home with a fenced yard. If you'd like to meet lovely Violet, please fill out a foster-to-adopt application at dreamhouserescue.org.

All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care (vaccines, heartworm testing, etc).
