Sweet Davidson is a good natured 42lb 2 year-old Teddy Bear of a dog looking for a special furever home. When Davidson arrived we noticed that he walks kind of funny and sits kind of funny. We took him to the vet and it seems something happened to him that is decidedly NOT funny. Davidson suffered mid-shaft femoral fractures in both of his rear legs some time ago and he received NO veterinary care. We can't imagine the pain this poor guy suffered with two untreated broken legs. We will consult with an orthopedist, but the breaks may be calcified to the point that they are beyond repair. We don't know what happened to him. Hit by a car? All we know is Davidson was found as a stray and ended up in a shelter.

Davidson is a sweet fuzzy mixed breed boy. We believe he may have some American Staffordshire Terrier in there, plus multiple other breeds, making him a pure bred mutt. He needs a furever home where he can be a genuine American couch potato. Davidson gets around fine, he's just not going to be a run and play, go hiking, take long walks kind of dog. He's a good natured, happy boy who will make a wonderful family dog. He'd probably be best suited to a home without too many stairs to navigate. Davidson needs an adopter who will carefully manage his weight and activity level. He must not put on additional weight as it will affect his mobility and quality of life.

If you'd like to meet Davidson, fill out a foster-to-adopt application at dreamhouserescue.org. All of our adoptable adult dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized.

Our adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 3 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.

We offer a one week trial period called Foster to Adopt with an approved application and a $100 deposit. We can also lend you a wire crate for the trial period.
