Handsome Ireland is a 1 year old 56lb Catahoula Leopard Dog/Australian Shepherd mix. Ireland found himself in an overcrowded rural shelter after suffering an injury to his hind legs, probably from being rolled by or pushed out of a car. Two female dogs we believe to be his mother (an Aussie) and sister ended up in the same shelter. Ireland was a bit overwhelmed by the dramatic change in his life, so we gave him some time to decompress and heal up a bit. He's a bit overweight, so he was recently in a home. All of our adoptable adult dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized.
