Val was found as a stray.  The mats on her body were so thick that she couldn't walk properly and she was covered in motor oil.  Her fur had to be shaved down to her skin which was very red and raw.  Val is at least 5 years and it is obvious she has not had an easy life.  Her first vet visit revealed she has diminished vision and four luxtating patellas (her kneecaps are fused). She does not seem to be in any pain and walks and climbs stairs just fine.  She is housebroken and leash trained.  Val gets along with other dogs as long as they don't bump her or get too close.  She ignores the cats.  She is protective, independent and feisty. She is ok being picked up and held as long as she knows you.  Otherwise she will snap and bite anyone that tries to pet her or pick her up.  Val would do best in a low key home with no children. She would probably be ok with another dog her size but would love being the only dog in the house.

Our adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.

Sweet Dream House Rescue is holding adoption events this Saturday and Sunday from (12-5 pm) at the Newport Petsmart (156 Pavilion Parkway, Newport, Kentucky), on Saturday (12-4 pm) at the Eastgate Petsmart (650 Eastgate South Dr., Cincinnati) and the first and third Saturdays of the month at South Lebanon Petsmart (476 Corwin Nixon Boulevard, South Lebanon, Ohio).
